BUDAPEST DESIGN WEEK 2011


The 8th annual Budapest Design Week kicks tomorrow and I will be there giving regular coverage of the various exciting events which are scheduled to take place.

SUGÁR JÁNOS: THE SITUATION


Those rather scuffed looking shoes are mine as I stood on the central podium placed between the two screens displaying the latest experimented film directed by Sugár János currently on display in the Videospace Galéria.

LOMO/ FILM/ MOZI EXHIBITION, SZATYOR GALLERY


I dashed into the Szatyor Gallery last week to have a quick look around the brand new Lomo/Film/Mozi photography exhibition. The show features the work of the finalists from the gallery's recent lomo photography competition based around the the topic of lomography and cinema.

Genderqueer, Platan Gallery

Lidia Krawczyk and Wojtek Kubiak deal with the issue of gender identity in a series of photographs and paintings which are in the same vein as the theoretical writing of Cathy Schwichtenberg and Judith Butler.

The Budapest Palace of Art (Műcsarnok) unveiled the breathtaking new Bizottság exhibition last weekend. There's been a lot of hype around this exhibition so I thought I would pop in to find out what all the fuss was about!

After a long, art deprived August, the creative season kicks off again in Budapest. Last night I went for a much needed fix of graphic design at the opening of the brand-new Forrai Ferenc exhibition at Műhely.
