Edible Typography Goodness
I received a very thoughtful gift through the post this morning from a good friend of mine in Oxford. This is one of her famous 'Fridge Cakes' which she made especially for my birthday. Take note of the Mini Egg Typography decorating the top. That's some creative use of eggs! The full mini-egg typeface can be found on Dafont.com now. Haha..

2010: What am I up to?
Well, I've had a bit of a break over the festive season, been relaxing with the cats and chickens and playing in the snow! The break was well deserved so no complaints from any of you!
Currently, I'm working on an article for Halo magazine about Innovation at Central Saint Martins University and the graduate opportunities available at the university beyond creative studies. It's only little, 600 words, but the deadline is the 18th of Jan, so I'm feeling the pressure. Just a little bit.
Halo is published by CSM and is circulated mostly to businesses within the creative industries. It is rather academic and has a little bit of business jargon in there which, on first read, did go in one eye and out the other, but I feel I understand the editorial style well enough now to pull this one off.
Jotta colleague Millie Ross has written for them before, so it's useful to have her as a contact should I get a bit stuck or require any advice.
Some quick facts on Halo:
Editor: Dani Salvadori
Design by: Praline
Issue 6 was funded by NESTA which was dedicated to research on how fine artists innovate.

Castorella
This story is a bit of a personal joke between a very close friend and I. We have a strange obsession with Beavers for some reason, and to be honest I don't even remember where any of this began. Anyway, this story was written for him when he was ill earlier in the year and I thought I would typeset it, come up with a cover and get it printed and bound for part of his christmas presents. It's a novelty gift, but I had fun putting it together. Here are some shots of it:

Blogging About
As part of my contract with Jotta, I've been managing the content of the Immersion blog, as well as contributing to the editorial content for the online magazine. As a person who's had numerous blogs, from the humble beginnings at Livejournal to the ever so innocent Sex Diary on Benrik, it seems fitting that I should be getting paid to blog. There's something exciting about it, sharing your opinion with so many and influencing them, merely through a couple of big pictures and a minimal amount of text, also getting to promote up and coming artists is something I love being a part of. Whether or not I start turning the Jotta/Immersion blog into my own platform for shameless self promotion, I think a lot of good will come out of it, as I am already beginning to present myself as a bit of an art and design 'expert.' The more you have to say on a subject, the more people will begin to respect your point of view (whether or not they actually agree with what you say is an entirely different matter).
This post is just to say that I'm going to begin a weekly 'blog spot' post, finding some of the most interesting opinion points on the net and sharing them with you. After all, what's the point in having information if you don't share it?
