Last night I went along to the opening party for Budapest University of Fine Arts graduate Gergely Szőke's first solo show 'A'.
The show features a selection of typographic paintings, each one hand rendered and painted by Gergely with exceptional precision.
Gergely re-creates a variety of fonts, concentrating on the upper-case 'A', from which the exhibition draws its name. Although the pieces at first glance appear very bare and minimal, on closer inspection you discover the brush strokes and the textures of the surface which Gergely has painted on. The show features a selection of typographic paintings, each one hand rendered and painted by Gergely with exceptional precision.
Gergely Szőke's 'A' exhibition runs until the 22nd of June.
